November 1 Deadline Approaching
Attention Seniors:
Some of you may be applying Early Action or Early Decision to colleges. Many Early Action and Early Decision deadlines are November 1. Spring-Ford requires 10 School Days to process transcript requests. This means that in order to meet the November 1 deadline, students must put their transcript requests in Naviance by this Monday, October 17. If you have not submitted your application but intend to before the November 1 deadline, it is okay to request transcripts now.
Don’t forget to request for your SAT/ACT scores to be sent to colleges through collegeboard.org or act.org. SAT and ACT scores are NOT reported on your transcript. It can sometimes take 2 weeks for these scores to be sent by the testing service.
REMEMBER: Your application is not considered complete until the college receives each required piece of the application. Requirements are set by each college and can be found on the college’s website.
Transcript Troubleshooting:
  • You must have the Parental Release of Records Form signed and returned in order to submit transcript requests.
  • All applications completed with Common App require a letter of recommendation from your school counselor. If you have not completed the Counselor Recommendation Information Survey, your transcripts may be delayed. You can find this survey under the “about me” tab in Naviance on the left side.
  • Students must electronically sign the FERPA on the Common App and match their Common App to Naviance for transcripts to be sent. The FERPA can be found under the “My Colleges” tab on the Common App. It will be the second section to complete under each college added. You will only need to electronically sign the FERPA once.
  • For some colleges, there are multiple ways of applying. If you do not indicate how you are applying, a red question mark will appear next to the the college’s name. Students will need to go to “colleges I’m applying to” in Naviance, click the pencil icon, and check that it says “common app” or “directly to institution” next to the appropriate schools.
Please visit the FPC with any transcript questions or concerns you may have. Good luck!!
